(applicable to all students in all grades, K-12th)

• Shoes - For safety reasons, all shoes must be closed-toed and be closed-heeled. Shoes must stay on the feet and not slip off. Shoes should also not potentially distract other students/teachers.

• Sandals/crocs are permissible as long as they fully cover the toes and have a backstrap that is strapped around the back of each foot to hold them in place.

• Shoes with lights are not permitted.

• Polo shirts - It is permissible for polo shirts to have a small logo (e.g, the small polo player on a “Polo” brand polo shirt or the small “UnderArmour” brand logo), but they may not have larger logos or any words.

• If a student wears a sweater or sweatshirt, it must be in one of the solid school colors: navy blue, hunter green, white, or gray with no writing (small logos are fine). Approved "ACS" hoodies may also be worn.

• Not wearing an approved polo shirt underneath a sweater, sweatshirt, or hoodie will be counted as a dress code violation.

• No sleeveless upper body attire may be worn unless there is an approved sleeved polo shirt also worn under it. 

• All clothing attire must be sufficiently loose, not skin-tight (form-fitting) or transparent. 

• Students may not wear hats in any building. Dress out days are exceptions.

• Dress Code violations - The first 4 violations will result in demerits and parents will be asked to bring clothes to school for their child to be in dress code. The 5th violation per semester will result in a detention. Continued violations will result in more detentions and higher consequences.

• Boys must wear either cotton pants (khaki or navy blue, straight or cargo) or cotton shorts (khaki or navy blue, straight or cargo). Boys must also wear a solid-colored polo shirt in school colors: hunter green, navy blue, white, or gray.

• Shorts must extend at least to the knees.

• Shirts must remain tucked in throughout the school day, except during P.E.

• During P.E. class, knee length shorts or loosely fitting pants, a T-shirt and athletic shoes are to be worn (except K4/K5 which don't "change" clothes for P.E. Grades 1-2 have the option of changing for P.E. but it's not required).

• Boys’ hair must be trimmed regularly to ensure it remains off of (not touching) the collar, above the eyebrows, and no longer than mid-ear. Boys' hair should also be neatly combed. Unnatural or faddish hair coloring and styling is also not permitted.

• If sandals or crocs are worn they must be closed-toed and have a back strap that is strapped around the back/heel of the foot to prevent the shoes from slipping off.

• Earrings and/or other body piercings/rings are not permitted.  

• Girls must wear one of the following: cotton pants (khaki or navy blue, straight or cargo) or a dress/jumper (khaki or navy blue) or a skirt (khaki or navy blue), or shorts (khaki or navy blue, straight or cargo) that go down to the knees. Girls must also wear a solid-colored polo shirt in school colors: hunter green, navy blue, white, or gray.

• Jumpers, skirts, or shorts must extend at least to the knees.

• Shirts must remain tucked in throughout the school day, except during P.E.

• During P.E. class, knee length shorts or loosely fitting pants, a T-shirt and athletic shoes are to be worn (except K4/K5 which don't "change" clothes for P.E. Grades 1-2 have the option of changing for P.E. but it's not required).

• Extreme or faddish hair coloring and styling is not permitted. Hair must be feminine in appearance and styling, not excessively short, and neatly kept.

• If tights are worn under a dress/jumper, skirt, or shorts, they must be solid white, navy blue, hunter green, or gray.

• If sandals are worn they must be closed-toed and have a back strap that is strapped around the back/heel of the foot to prevent the sandals slipping off.

• Earrings must not be larger than a quarter and only one per ear.

• Young men must wear cotton pants (navy or khaki, straight or cargo). Boys must also wear a solid-colored polo shirt in school colors: hunter green, navy blue, white, or gray.

• Shirts must remain tucked in throughout the school day, except during P.E.

• During P.E. class, loosely fitting pants or shorts that extend to the knees, a T-shirt, and athletic shoes are to be worn.
