  • A. Atmore Christian School is an extension of the Christian home in training young people in a Christian environment.

    Our goals are:

    1. To encourage each child to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, achieve a higher Christian maturity, attain a deeper commitment, and become a more effective witness for the Lord

    2. To emphasize individuality so that each child develops personal God-given abilities and talents in creativity, goal setting, communications, academics, and the principles of success

    3. To promote self-discipline by training children to be relevant, consistent, appreciative, responsible and thorough in attitude, character, and action

    4. To assist each child in seeking God’s purpose for his/her life’s service and in necessary preparation for eternity through emphasis on Biblical relevance

    5. To compensate for inadequate educational backgrounds and to minimize failure and repetition 6. to help each child learn to meet daily responsibilities with which God has entrusted him

    B. We do not deemphasize education because we are Christian. In fact, we expect each student to strive to fulfill his/her highest academic potential. At the same time we will not deemphasize our Christian values and convictions as we promote academic excellence.

  • Atmore Christian School opened in the fall of 1977 as a ministry of the New Life Foundation (NLF). The NLF felt a need for a school teaching spiritual and moral standards. The school was originally located at the Gospel Light Chapel on North Trammell Street in Atmore. In 1980, the Freemanville Mennonite Church took over sponsorship and oversight of the school. In 1982, the church erected a new building on Tennant Drive in Atmore, and changed its name to the Mennonite Christian Fellowship (MCF). The school then moved into the basement of the new building. ACS consists of grade levels K4 to 12. Enrollment has ranged from 23 to 125 students.

    Atmore Christian School is a ministry of Mennonite Christian Fellowship, which is a local church within the Good News Fellowship of Mennonite Churches. MCF is incorporated as a non-profit, religious organization of the state of Alabama.

  • A. We believe that the Bible is the inerrant, infallible, inspired written Word of God.

    B. We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary.

    C. We believe that salvation is received by grace through faith in the shed blood and finished work of Jesus Christ on the Cross. Though good works in faith are the inevitable fruit of salvation, salvation is not merited. earned, or kept by good works.

    D. We believe in the total depravity of man apart from the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Man can do nothing to make himself pure in the eyes of God.

    E. We believe that Jesus Christ will return again and take those who are saved and have their names in the Lamb’s Book of Life to Heaven to live with Him eternally. We also believe that those whose names are not in the Book of Life will be eternally separated from God in Hell.

    F. We believe in a literal six day creation of all things by God, by the word of His power, and all very good.

    G. We believe that marriage must be between one man and one woman. This has been God’s good design from the beginning (Gen 2:24-25; Matthew 19:4-6). Any sexual intimacy or conduct between members of the opposite sex outside of the covenant bonds of marriage is sin. Any sexual intimacy or conduct between members of the same sex is sin. Any perversion of God’s good created distinction and differentiation between male and female is sin.

    H. We believe that abortion is sin. Killing the unborn child in the womb is killing a person created in the image of God. Personhood begins at conception, not birth.

    I. We believe that Scripture is clear in its forbidding of lawsuits between believers.
