Admission Policies
-
Students must be the specified age (4 or 5) by the 1st day of September of the given school year in order to be enrolled in K4 or K5.
-
Students are evaluated according to their past academic performance.
1. Students will not normally be placed in a grade above their chronological age level in their first year at ACS.
2. All new students at ACS will begin on probation until the end of their first full quarter at ACS. If deemed necessary by the Administrator and Academic Dean, at the end of this probationary period there may be a meeting with the administrator and parents to discuss and determine the student’s progress and future at ACS.
-
If there are any concerns or open questions about an enrolling student’s capability to succeed in their normal (age-based) grade level, ACS reserves the right and may require a preliminary academic assessment to determine the student’s suitable grade level.
-
All students must have proper, up-to-date immunizations before being enrolled at Atmore Christian School, unless they have obtained and turned in the proper exemption forms from the Health Department of Escambia County, AL.
-
Atmore Christian School has a racially nondiscriminatory policy, and, therefore, we will not discriminate against any members, applicants, parents, students, and/or others on the basis of race, color or national or ethnic origin.
-
The administrator and the school board chairman may consult about some applicants. Some applicants may also be discussed by the whole school board.
-
1. Initial interview
2. Fill out an enrollment application and other required forms
3. The administrator consults with the board chairman and possibly the school board.
4. Academic evaluation (if deemed necessary by ACS leadership)
5. Possible second interview (if needed)
6. Decision made and communicated to the parents/guardians.
-
A re-enrollment form will be sent home to current students each Spring with a specified return date.
1. The ACS Board reserves the right to deny any application for enrollment or re-enrollment based on any concerns about the student’s or the parents’/guardians’ past or present conduct that we believe may fail to promote godly school culture.
