Statements will be sent home next week.  If you have NOT sent in your re-enrollment forms, your re-enrollment fees will NOT appear on your statement.  Please send in your re-enrollment forms if you have not already done so.

Please turn in all your Boxtops for Education and your Labels for Education. This will be our last submission for Labels for Education since they are discontinuing the program.

2016-17 Yearbook: Order forms for the 2016-17 Yearbook were sent home.  The Yearbook Staff is working hard to create a clean, creative yearbook this year.  The forms are due May 18.  Please enclose the proper amount of money with the order form when you turn it in.  Cost per year book is $15.00.  Thank you!

Cookbooks: Mother’s Day is coming up.  Summer wedding “season” is here.  Our Atmore Christian School cookbooks make excellent gifts, plus you are helping our school at the same time!  Our cookbooks are selling for $7 each or two for $14.

Hamburgers: This Friday, May 12, the school will be grilling hamburgers instead of serving pizza.  Please note this change.

Softball Uniforms: Girls on the softball team should return their clean jerseys to the secretary’s office by this Friday, May 12.

Lost & Found: Please check Lost & Found.  All unclaimed items will be sent to the We Care Thrift Store.

K-6th Grade Water Day: Elementary students will have Water Day on Thursday, May 18.  The school will rent water slides for the day.  Dress code will be P. E. dress code (knee-length shorts and appropriate T-shirts).  Please wear dark-colored shirts!  Bring a towel and sunscreen (please label)!  No water guns/toys are allowed.  NO snacks will be provided, so please send one with your child.  The cost is $5 per child. 

Carry-In Dinner and Awards Night: Next Thursday, May 18, we will be having our annual Carry-In Dinner and Awards Night.  We will begin the evening with carry-in dinner at 6:00 PM.  All families who plan to eat dinner should bring a main dish and a salad or dessert to contribute to the meal. The awards ceremony will begin at 7:00 PM.  Volunteers are needed to help out with food prep, serving drinks, and clean up with the carry-in dinner.  If you are interested in helping, please fill out the volunteer slip that has been included in the envelope and return it tomorrow.

After-School Care: The last day of after-school care will be Tuesday, May 16.

Report cards will be available to pick up on June 6 from 9:00 AM-12:00 noon.

Summer hours: We will have a staff member in the office during the summer on Tuesdays from 9 AM until 12:00 noon.

ACS Choir is headed to Irwin, Ohio this weekend, April 21-24, to participate in Rosedale Bible College’s High School Choral Festival.  Please remember them in your prayers as they travel and participate in this event.

Treva Classen will be out of the office until May 3 to welcome a new grandchild. If you have a question for her before she leaves you may give her a call at 850-776-5708.

Dress Out Day: Friday,  April 21.  DRESS CODE:  Boys may wear knee-length shorts with a loose fitting T-shirt. Girls may wear knee-length shorts or knee-length skirts with a loose fitting T-shirt. Tennis shoes and socks are required.

Field Trip: Friday, April 7, grades 1 – 6 will be attending the Southeastern Indian Festival in Poarch, AL.

Dress Code: Loose fitting jeans, knee length shorts and an ACS t-shirt or school uniform worn. ALL students must wear tennis shoes.

Lunch: Please pack a sack lunch and a water bottle. Indian corn will be available for $2.00 per ear.

If you find mismatched tableware in your drawers at home, they may have been carried home from school. We strongly discourage the privilege of using any tableware here, but somehow spoons and forks still disappear. We welcome their return.

The dress code is as follows: Boys may wear knee-length shorts, loose-fitting jeans, or ACS sweatpants with an ACS T-shirt or polo on top. Girls may wear loose-fitting jeans, ACS sweatpants, knee-length shorts, or knee-length skirts with an ACS T-shirt or polo on top.

Thank you to each person who sold doughnuts!  We sold 475 dozen.  We didn’t reach our goal, but we appreciate the effort of those who participated.  Congratulations to the top three highest sellers:  1st place, Owen, Helen & Jack Weber $191.00 (25 doz.); 2nd place, Kirsten McCracken $172.00 (22 doz.); 3rd place, Leah McMorris $171.00 (21 doz.)!  Great job to Kamryn Mothershed who sold 20 dozen ($158.00), as well as others of you who put great effort into this fundraiser selling close to 10 or more dozen.

Krispy Kreme Doughnut fundraiser money is due this Friday, February 17.

Grades K-4 through 6 will be going to watch Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs of the Black Forest tomorrow, Wednesday, February 15.  The show is at 10:15.  Admission is $5.00 per student.  Please sign the permission slip at the bottom of this sheet and return it in the envelope tomorrow, along with the money, if you have not already done so. (If you have already turned in the permission slip and money, you do NOT need to send another one).

Citrus Fruit Fundraiser Reminder:  Money is due tomorrow, February 1.  $60.00 and $30.00 opt-out fees for junior high and high school students who did not participate or meet the required amount are due tomorrow as well.

Krispy Kreme Doughnut Fundraiser: Enclosed you will find information regarding our annual Valentine’s Day Krispy Kreme doughnut fundraiser as well as a copy of your order form from last year as a reminder to whom you sold.  Please read the information as all students are encouraged to sell.  Orders are due next week on Friday, February 10.  It would be great if you can turn your order in Wednesday or Thursday of next week.  But we will take orders through Friday.  Delivery will be early morning on Tuesday, February 14.

Friday – Character/Career Day – dress like a character or professional

(NOTE: All outfits must meet ACS dress code requirements.)

Citrus fruit is arriving tomorrow, January 25 at 11:00.  It is not ideal, but it is what it is, so we ask everyone to please exercise patience during dismissal/pick up time tomorrow.  You may pick up your orders between 11:30-1:00.  If you want to pick up your fruit at dismissal time, please stay in the lane nearest the patio of the elementary building.  Please do NOT use the lane nearest the patio unless you are picking up fruit.  We could use some more help…please call or text Carita Battles at (614) 736-4274 if you would be willing to assist us.  Money is due Wednesday, February 1st. There is also some extra fruit available for purchase.

Thank you to those of you who participated in our citrus fruit fundraiser. Congratulations to the top three highest sellers: 1st place, Lily & Grace Richardson $424.00; 2nd place, Caeden Battles $366.00; 3rd place, Owen, Helen & Jack Weber $342.00!  Great job to Jasmina Stahly and Patrick Byrd who sold $334.00 and $330.00, respectively.  Thanks also to Mrs. Classen who sold $440.00!

We were informed yesterday that the fruit will be arriving a week later than initially estimated.  Fruit is now estimated to arrive between Jan. 26-29.
